Augustin Cournot Doctoral School.
The Augustin Cournot Doctoral School gathers almost all the research training programmes in economics, management and social studies on science and technology being offered at the University of Strasbourg. The main objectives of the Augustin Cournot DS is to provide professional support to doctoral students, to help them develop the skills necessary to write an original doctoral thesis and to foster their integration on both academic and non-academic job markets. The DS supplies a large scope of original training courses based on well-established research traditions in the host research laboratories. The Augustin Cournot DS is strongly interdisciplinary both within and between its participating research labs, which are:
- Bureau d'Economie Théorique et Appliquée (BETA);
- Gestion Territoriale de l'Eau et de l'Environnement (GESTE);
- Humans and Management in Society (HuManiS);
- Institut de Recherches Interdisciplinaires sur les Sciences et la Technologie (IRIST);
- Laboratoire de Recherche en Gestion et Economie (LARGE).
One of the projects of the DS is to play an active role in attracting doctoral students at both national and international levels. Therefore the DS is teaching some of its training programmes entirely in English and offers post-graduate training programmes among our European partners. The DS has formal cooperation agreements with the University of Konstanz and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. Students enrolled in our DS are highly encouraged to spend between one month and one year in one of our partner universities during their theses.
The Augustin Cournot DS is also one of the components of the College of doctoral schools; it participates in the activities of the European Doctoral College which covers the whole site of Strasbourg.
